i Monster. Sheffield's Daydream, Pressed Into Halftone.

Dean Honer and Jarrod Gosling spent the late 90s in a Sheffield bedroom turning a 1969 Wallace Collection ballad called "Daydream" into something half-lullaby, half-nightmare. They called the project i Monster. The song should not have worked - a 32-year-old French pop sample, a children's-choir vocal, lyrics about a girl who may not exist - but in 2001 "Daydream In Blue" climbed the UK chart, soundtracked every late-night chill-out comp of the early 2000s, and ended up the most-played thing on student radio for the rest of the decade. i Monster proved a Sheffield bedroom and a borrowed bar of vinyl could conjure a creature the majors couldn't manufacture. This print is the monster the song built: halftone face, one wide eye, K|D as the pupil, mouth full of teeth, printed with the deliberate CMYK misregistration of a Cabinet flyer pinned to a Devonshire Street wall.
